The Copper Kingdom lets you discovery of Copper at Parys Mountain, Amlwch, Isle of Anglesey. History has left a colourful lunar landscape mountain and a delightful, pretty harbour with museums

The Copper Kingdom tells the story of the discovery of Copper at the Parys Mountain near Amlwch on the Isle of Anglesey. The history has left a colourful lunar landscape at the mountain and a delightful, pretty harbour with two museums down in Amlwch Port.

Together the three attractions help you explore the lives of the men & women whose livelihood depending on the Copper from the mountain.

Parys Mountain / Copper mine heritage trail- Here you'll experience the array of colours along with being astounded at the enormity of a man made crater. View the largest Open Cast Copper Mine in the World during the 18th century. Self-guided access to the mountain is via a rough path and is approx. 2 miles from the Copper Kingdom exhibition centre. Free local car parking available.

The Copper Kingdom exhibition Centre - a modern, interactive, informative exhibition that tells the tales of a number of characters who worked the copper ore, including the infamous and powerful Copper Ladies.

Sail Loft Maritime museum and café – a museum dedicated to the numerous occupations that Amlwch was associated with - ship building yard, tobacco factory, mat making factory, exportation of copper; sulphur and a multitude of other cargo.

Both centres in Amlwch port offer easy access, with customer toilets and free parking. As well as helping you to make the most of your visit to the Copper Kingdom, gifts are available, while the Sail loft has a small café.

Sail Loft

A newly refurbished café with welcoming staff, offering traditional Welsh produce: bara brith, Welsh afternoon teas. A maritime museum on the second floor that illustrates the history of the busy harbour . We are right next to the Anglesey Coast path so all ramblers welcome.
